Maya Medvesek needs no introduction, since she has been rocking Glasgow clubs for many years as a DJ using the name Nightwave. Medvesek runs her label Heka Trax as well as the Nightrave night, and has been releasing her own music since 2017. Inner Peace was her first release of this year, a four track 12″ on Posthuman’s label Balkan. It’s a heavy dancefloor-oriented record that manages to stay eclectic in its early 90s nostalgia, revelling in acid, techno and house inspirations. The record’s been out since July, and a new one is coming on Hotflush tomorrow.
