Richey Rose is a studio musican and guitarist who has performed with Tamaryn and countless other groups. Based in LA, he’s just released an instrumental album infused with the westcoast ocean spray. LAX is the Rose’s first full-length and is a solid chillwave album that is reverential of its influences (track titles like “Beachaus”, “Cocktail Twins” and “Jesus & Mary Jane” leave little doubt) without descending into imitation. Working with relatively simple ideas and motifs, Richey builds these into lavish studio landscapes that will soothe metropolitan ears suffering from noise pollution.
