Rahill Jamalifard of Habibi has just released a solo single under the name Rahill. After her collaboration with Hamish Kilgour as Roya, it’s great to see yet another side of Rahill’s songwriting. “Note to Self” backed with “Nazila” is a self-released digital single that sounds like everything from Jackie DeShannon to Moby. The a-side is one of the catchiest numbers I’ve heard all year, and it’s hard not to be amazed by this artist’s creativity. I’m so happy I got to meet Rahill a few years ago on tour, and I really recommend checking out this interview she did in 2017.
