Lullabies For Insomniacs is a Dutch record label started by Izabel Caligiore. I feel an affinity towards the label, as it actually started as a radio show on Melbourne station PBS, where Caligiore did graveyard shifts way back in 2013 – just like we did on 3RRR. One of LFI’s latest releases is a tape by Baldruin, called Die halluzinierte Welt. Johannes Schebler, who performs as Baldruin, has created a set of 26 pastoral pieces of synthesiser music. Tracks like “Im ständigen Fluss” brings to mind the ebb and flow of nature’s own processes. It’s organic, yet electronic. Schebler calls them sketches, but the have a surprising amount of depth too.
