Sometimes I’m reminded why Upset the Rhythm is one of my favourite record labels. Like when they released the first album from Manchester group Handle in March this year. In Threes is a joint release with Maternal Voice from Sweden/UK and there’s also a tape version on the great Absolute Fiction from Manchester, check out their regular show on NTS. Handle are a three-piece mixing no wave with the global melting pot of A Certain Ratio in a miniature universe of their own. Something like “Lifes Work” brings back the joy of life to even the most grey of Mondays. Handle’s music is free in the most positive sense of the word.
