A Compilation For Edgar is an amazing document of live music in Australia. Released on tape by Wild Animals just a few weeks ago, it includes tracks from 24 bands mainly based in Melbourne. They’re mixing desk recordings that have later been mixed by Max Ducker in his Cellar Sessions Studio. If you check their insta, you’ll also find video of some of the bands from the exact performance that was captured for the tape. Most notably there’s a track by Smarts from their upcoming album, as well as related bands Vertigo and Cereal Killer. Power, Ill Globo, Synthetics and Concrete Lawn all turn in some hot tracks as well. There’s even a track from U-Bahn recorded at a show I attended back in January.
