Filmmaker has, surprise, another album out at the end of July. This time it’s a set of songs he created while on tour with Synthstrom in Wellington that was created entirely on their portable synth, sampler and sequencer. The tape is coming on the Greek label Phormix, whose name is a pun on the phorminx (the Ancient Greek lute). Discordant Disco holds ten new tracks and a guest appearance from Naomie Klaus. It’s rumoured to be the last Filmmaker album of the year, so make sure you listen to “Obelisk” now and order your copy. According to the label, the album as a whole is a musical tribute to the Eris, the Greek goddess of discord.
