Itailian darkwave label Avant! released a brilliant and free sampler back in April, called Year of the Mask. Compiling 10 tracks from different artists from around the world, it’s a great introduction to the label as well as the introducing some of the top names of the coldwave/darkwave scene. Pleasure Symbols and Buzz Kull from Australia appear along with SDH from Spain, M!R!M and Qual from the UK. Profit Prison from Seattle were new to me, but really like their track “Witness”.
