Mini Skirt from Byron Bay finally released their first full-length album in June. Casino holds 11 tracks recorded by Owen Penglis and includes their two recent singles “Pretty” and “Brigantine St”. The latter was on our Apple Turnover playlist a couple of months back and reminds me of the great Alabama band Nightmare Boyzzz, whose album sadly isn’t online anywhere. At the moment I can’t access Mini Skirt’s new LP on bandcamp either, but I assume it’s just a glitch since it was meant to be released digitally today. In a couple of weeks they have a launch party at The Lansdowne, for 2 x 50 seated audience.
