Jäde from Lyon released her first EP on Paris label Entreprise in May. Première fois is a beautiful and unapologetic debut that sounds a bit like the popular sophisticated sounds of Vendredi Sur Mer or Voyou, but mixes elements of trap in. Like US duo Sugar High, or Swedish artist Ängie, she manages to stay on the right side of chic on tracks like “Longtemps”. She has an obvious affinity for retro sounds, just like Belgian sensation Claire Laffut, and elements of 80s pop commingle with French 60s stylings.
