Somehow we failed to write about Cannibale’s excellent album Not Easy to Cook from a couple of years ago. Come on, how could you say no to song titles like “The Ugliest Rabbit of the 70s”? We also missed the “Acceleration” single from last year. Now we’ve got a new chance, because the Paris group is releasing their new single “Petit Orang-outan” this weekend. The 19-minute opus has been edited down to 14 on the 7″, meaning it must be pressed at 33 rpm. It’s a loosely connected set of four sections, joined by a spoken monologue. While their previous recordings were reminiscent of Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, this is an entirely different beast (or should we say ape?).
