Singer and songwriter Zella Day is originally from Arizona and released her first album Kicker in 2015. Since then she has only released a string of singles, which is a format that suits this artist obsessed with 60s and 70s music. On her latest single “My Game” Day incorporates a disco groove and launches into a chorus that literally screams Abba. In the video, art directed by the amazing Kaiman Kazazian, she takes a few cues from the pop art mise-en-scene of secret agent series The Avengers. But even more evocative of another time is the b-side “People Are Strangers”, with its lush arrangement. Following the new single, a disco remix of her old album track “1965” also appeared.
