Here it is, the much anticipated new album from Melbourne’s Stroppies: One of the most quietly ingenious pop bands around these days. 2020 was meant to be a big year for the band, with long tour that sadly got cancelled. They were looking forward to taking their music to new audiences, with the backing of their label Tough Love. Look Alive! is as much a step forward for the band as it is a step sideways. Recorded without their second guitarist, it’s made Claudia Serfaty’s bass the center of the sound. Opening track “Burning Bright” sounds a lot like Look Blue Go Purple, which is a huge compliment. There’s also a definitive influence from The Chills on tracks like “Holes In Everything”.
