City Rose was a great post-punk band from Sydney who, unfortunately, played their final gig at last year’s Weird Place fest. But this month Third Coming are finally releasing what was meant to be the band’s debut. The self-titled tape holds four songs recorded by Tim Powles of The Church in 2018. You can listen to two of the tracks on bandcamp now (today is a good day to pre-order), called “Sextons Call” and “777”. On both tracks you can hear a healthy Bad Seeds influence but also a lot of other dark 80s bands blending noise and rock music. “Crackling Amber” came out already two years ago and is a bit more punk in its delivery.
