It’s been just over a year since Toronto’s Protruders issued their minialbum on Feel It. But fear not, a few days ago a new single appeared on Goodbye Boozy. Part of the label’s slew of releases for May, “No More” might be my favourite of the lot. With rattling drums and overdriven vocals it sounds like it might fall apart any second. Somehow it manages to stretch out to to minutes with what feels like a long jam with a saxophone in the middle. “It’s Not Easy” is easier on the ears, with a riff that’s in tune and as groovy as anything laid down by Rabid Dogs or Rot T.V.
