Thanks to the great Mt.St.Mtn. for reminding us about that Blues Lawyer LP that came out at the end of last year. Something Different is the Oakland band’s second album and you may recognise the members from a few other bands they’ve been active in since recording their debut. Elyse plays in The World, Alejandra in Preening and Rob was in Mall Walk (check out their amazing LP from 2016). This really is a kind of album that’s not done anymore. It doesn’t make much noise, it’s just quietly brilliant – a bit like The Verlaines or Able Tasmans around the late 80’s. Check out the video for “It’s Not Up to You”.
