La Chasse from Marseille have the sonic onslaught of a band despite being a just a duo. Since their first LP on Et Mon Cul c’est du Tofu? from 2017 they’ve been been releasing some inspiring records mixing post-punk and noise. In March they shared ambient- based single “Equinoxe” only to follow-up with a new album in last month – one that goes full Destruction Unit on tracks like “Meretrix”. Sidera only has eight tracks but is well-balanced between heavy guitars and lighter, but just as ominous compositions, such as “Doloris”.
