Le Villejuif Underground have returned with their first new music since their amazing album from 2018. After their singer working on the CIA Debutante album, they got back together to create new single “Les Huitres a Cancale”. The first side “Ghost of the Water” sounds a bit like Denim with its warbling synthesiser solo. It’s out on Born Bad Records today and feels like a natural continuation of When Will the Flies In Deauville Drop?, with more than a passing nod to Mark E. Smith but also a unique French touch coming out of the outsider legacy of Serge Gainsbourg. A thing of beauty.
