Hana Pestle from Los Angeles makes music as simply Hana. But there is nothing simple about her music or aesthetic. She recently released the video for her latest single “Anxious Alien”, off of her first full-length Hanadriel. Beyond the dystopian image of the artist as cybernetic machine, she approaches the very foundational aspects of creating and writing. The process of making the album was broadcast live on Twitch and it was released at the end of last year by Hana herself. Since her first EP from 2016, she has been partly inspired by Grimes, and last year they collaborated on the track “We Appreciate Power”.
