A brand new band from Perth, Gaffer consists of members from Cold Meat, Die and Helta Skelta. The Helta Skelta label has of course stepped in to help release their first demo. It’s a cassette with seven scorching tracks that makes me wish they’re already working on a proper record. “Stop” is an ace song that will stick in your brain instantly. The guitar sound is perfect on “Skin of Your Teeth” and on “Stuck” they sound like a swarm of bees. And we all love bees, right? This is one of the best demos I’ve heard in a while.
