Black Dresses is a Canadian duo out of Toronto, with three great albums on Blacksquares to their name. That label is Devi McCallion’s artistic vehicle and together with Ada Rook she creates the beautiful mess that is Black Dresses. With both members having an extensive discography, this is unholy communion that is even greater than its parts. They’ve just put out their fourth record Peaceful As Hell a few days ago and it’s still a mix of about five different genres. It’s full of ingenuity, such as the wondrous “Maybe This World Is Another Planets Hell?” and the crushing “Mirrorgirl”.
