The Flytraps is a straight-up 70s punk group out of LA who’ve finally released a longplayer after many years of working hard and putting out a few great singles. Wild Card includes new and improved versions of tracks from 2014-2019 as well as new rippers like “Takin’ It Back”. If it weren’t for Kristin Cooper’s ferocious voice most of this record could have been passed of as powerpop but they have move in common with Midnite Snaxxx than with The Time Flys. And it’s great to finally hear someone write a decent party tune, which they have with “Party”. True hedonism is rare these days. Get it from Burger.
