Father daughter duo Inez and Kenny McLain are back with another Exbats LP. While their first vinyl outing was a compilation of tracks from previous releases, Kicks, Hits and Fits is in a way their first vinyl record – out via Burger Records. They give us a set of bubblegum punk tunes that are as sweet as they are angry. Fleshed out with overdubbed guitars and organ, this almost sounds like a full band. If you like Helen Love or Peach Kelli Pop you’ll dig this LP, which leaves some of their sillier tendencies behind. Whether that’s for better or worse is up to you, but the songs speak for themselves here.
