White Flowers are a duo from Preston, that’s Preston in London and not Melbourne. Earlier this year they put out their first single on Tough Love Records – the cinematic “Night Drive”. Sounding like a darker more 90s Chromatics, they could definitely have been on the soundtrack to The Neon Demon if not Drive. The flip “Portra” also showed influences from Portishead and Massive Attack, and that’s something we get more of on new single “Day By Day” that stretches out to eight minutes. The guitar line is definitely a nod to Beach House and with a flip that covers Red House Painters there’s a yearning sense of nostalgia to their music.
