The release date of Sneaky Feelings’ new album on Flying Nun slowly approaches. The Mercury Moment is their first since the ‘comeback’ 2017 and judging by the single “Stardust Magical” the band are just as great as they ever were. Sounding a bit like The Loft, who started out around the same time, but on the other side of the planet, Sneaky Feelings have been one of the unsung heroes of New Zealand music. Releasing a slow but steady stream of records in the 80s ( Matthew was in Dribbling Darts in the 90s) and doing occasional gigs after that, I was lucky enough to catch them live in 2009. Somehow their music still hasn’t aged a day.
