Grace Stevenson’s new album as Rebel Yell is about the see the light of day. But before that she found the time to release a split with London’s Yaws on the Icelandic label FALK (Fuck Art Let’s Kill). I’m much more impressed with Rebel Yell’s side of this digital-only release (so I guess there’s just one side) and she proves that Sydney isn’t far behind Melbourne in terms of the number of brilliant active artists. Her four tracks here each feel like a workout exploring one insulated idea. In that way Left Hand Path manages to feel somewhat coherent without maintaining any red thread.
