Legendary US slowcore/ambient duo Windy & Carl started working with the Kranky label back in 1998 when they released Depths, with its 19-minute title track. They’ve just released their first record in eight years and they’re still sticking with Kranky. Allegiance and Conviction is a strong album of guitar-based drones that speak of darker times – certainly darker than the 90s when they were lumped into the same scene as Low and Godspeed You!
