Mess is a new Melbourne band with a couple of demo tapes to their name. The latest one, Demo II came out a few days ago, just before they played Nighthawks together with the great Synthetics. I missed that show, but I’m hoping to catch them at The Old Bar in a couple of weeks. Mess is a four-piece with Tilly Sage on vocals, and their bass player Jaz Goodrich also plays in Cut Wire. The three tracks on their new demo are all excellent but I think “John” is my favourite with its off-kilter guitar.
