Dekmantel have become an Amsterdam institution in their more than 10 years of operating. As a record label, festival, radio and podcast they really have all bases covered. The now welcome local stars The Mauskovic Dance Band with a new 12″. Following their brilliant debut album from last year, this EP takes them a step further into the dance music spectrum. With a set of tunes based on dub and cumbia just to mention a few influences, Shadance Hall is quite different to their disco/funk/psych amalgamation of yore. The b-side of the vinyl features dubs of the tracks on the a-side – you’ll need to order the 12″ to hear those. Nicola Mauskovic has previously worked with Dekmantel for his Bruxas project together with Jacco Gardner, and this is definitely closer to that territory.
