Los Angeles is home to so many talented musicians. One of my new favourite bands is Aurat, led by singer Azeka Kamal. They sing in Urdu and make angsty coldwave that borders on post-punk. Their latest single is called “Ilzam” which means blame, I think. It’s already a few months old but since them they’ve also released a bunch of rough demos that are more guitar-based. Natalie from another LA group Katatonic has now joined them on guitar.
