Emotional Response are continuing their series of underground music created by women and non-binary artists: Typical Girls. As one of the label’s greatest accomplishments, it is perhaps no surprise that we are already at the fifth volume of this compilation series. You’ll get a smattering of hits from steady Record Turnover favourites Empat Lima, Patsy’s Rats, Vital Idles, Slag Queens and Mr. Wrong (whom you could hear on our first radio show at the start of the week). Most notably though, this marks the long-awaited vinyl release of Color TV’s seminal “Anybody’s Girl”. When we wrote about them a couple of years ago, I begged any label to press their single onto vinyl, and now at least the a-side is available. A musthave for any punk DJ.
