Dig! Records is a Virginia label who have previously released straight-up classics from The Whiffs and Patsy’s Rats. Last month they got back in the game with the debut LP from Josephine. Josephine plays guitar in Brower, Velveteen Rabbit, and before that the amazing Jeanies from New York. Her first solo album is a glam slow burner, and at times surprisingly soulful in that Style Council kinda way. Music Is Easy is an album out of time and out of space. Naturally, you won’t escape the obligatory power pop masterpiece, with “He Still Calls Me Baby” which’ll have you believe it’s 1980 and not 2020.
