Kosmetika is a new pop outfit from Melbourne led by singer Veeka Nazarova, originally from Russia. Just like Program, they are obsessed with 90s underground sounds. Sonically, the Elephant Six collective, Stereolab and Sonic Youth might be relevant points of reference but Kosmetika are quite unique. Their debut LP Pop Soap is out on local label Roolette, marking their third vinyl release. My favourite track so far is “Kraftneau” which features some very Tim Gane-like strumming.
