Elevator Operators

Do you remember the great NYC band The Above? Their selftitled album from 2010 is one of the best garage/rnb records this side of 2000 along with maybe The Go. A couple of guys from The Above have a new band now called The Elevator Operators, operating very much within the same idiom. Their first EP came out on 13 O’Clock recently and features 4 tracks on one 45. Opening track “On the Ground” delivers the goods with a heavy 12-string based groove. Closing track “Sending This to You” is a beautiful ballad that brings mid-era Beatles to mind.
