So we wrote about TV Party a good while ago and they finally did release their debut album in August. The self-titled LP came out on small LA label Outro (who released The Night Times LP this year). It sadly feels like the record fell between the chairs a bit, after Burger ended up handing the release over to Outro. They said they would handle the digital release but the album still hasn’t turned up on streaming services. Neither is the tape available from GNAR, which was also promised. That aside, it’s still one of the best records of the year, leading off with three tracks from their debut EP. In a way it feels like a collection of what was meant to be their first two EPs plus some new tracks. “Who’s Loving You?” and “Out of My Mind” are the only ones that hadn’t been shared as singles, and they are great too.
