Melbourne group Dreamin’ Wild recorded their second album Thirteen In Thirty-Eleven in Footscray and 3011 is actually the postcode of the suburb. Featuring members of The Murlocs and Swazi Gold, these guys sound like they’re in love with 70s MOR and a bit of americana for good measure. Seen through a prism of New York slacker pop, this is probably the most stoned record I’ve heard all year. I can even put up with the sometimes tuneless vocals. It’s a great record to “Pass the Time”, as the closing track would have it. Get it from Research Records.
