The release of Japanese group Tawings debut album Tawings is one of the year’s most anticipated for me. After a couple of brilliant singles, they’ve now shared the first single from the album. It’s called “Suisen” and sounds a lot more like Slowdive than their previous work. They recently played a collaborative show with Luby Sparks in Tokyo, called Dreamtopia. The Tawings album is coming out on the same label Luby Sparks are on and judging by the the sound of the new single the rest of the album might be the same kind of Cocteau Twins throwback as that band’s recent single “Somewhere” (which was even remixed by Robin Guthrie).
