Swiss group L’Eclair and the Dutch Mauskovic Dance Band have come together in a union that feels like a match made in heaven. After L’Eclair’s celestial Sauropoda, which saw them exploring their sound in a number of longer jams, it’s great to see them back in a 45-friendly single format. Together with Mauskovic, they’ve cut two chilled out sides where the instrumentation merges perfectly. “Homo Sapiens” sounds a lot like Khruangbin, only 10 times better. “Take the Money” is perhaps one of the most danceable rhythms L’Eclair have worked with, featuring some spot on bongo drumming. It’s out on Bongo Joe in just over a month.
