Eggy is a brilliant Melbourne quartet who released their first single at the start of the year. “52 AFLW Players” was about the Australian football league for women, and is ingenious in its simplicity. In June the band’s first EP, called Billy came out. Self-released by the band, this EP was recorded at One Year and sounds amazing. Eggy are not afraid to be original, perhaps inspired by the idiosyncrasy of groups like Parsnip. If you’re feeling “Eggystential” this just might be the defining release of the year for you.
