Slag Queens are a great new band from Tasmania – really need to go there on the next trip. After releasing an EP a few years ago, their first album You Can’t Go Out Like That came out this year on Rough Skies. If you like bands like Boat Show and Body Type, I think you will enjoy their brand of garage pop, which covers the whole gamut from slow moodiness to upbeat fuzz. The vocals holds your attention throughout the record and I like that they are at the front of the mix.
