Dig Yourself was one of my favourite albums of last year and its makers Queen of Jeans already have a new record out, called If You’re Not Afraid, I’m Not Afraid on Topshelf Records. The Philadelphia trio-turned-quartet-turned-trio are sounding very refined on these 11 new tracks. Without the last remnants of dirt from their previous work, this is a pure pure pop record with alt country inflections. Songs like “I Am In Love With Your Mind” are simply beautifully poignant.
