Florida group UV-TV have returned with their second album, called Happy. It just dropped on Canadian label Deranged Records (home of some of that country’s greatest bands, like Marvelous Darlings and Tranzmitors), giving us a slightly more polished sound. Now relocated to New York, the band seems to have locked on to the trend of that big 90s sound – and no, were not talking Tiger Trap anymore, Happy rather reminds me of Hole. I really love the short tracks like “Sand”. Another 90s trend right there: single word song titled, which is true for 7 out of 9 tracks on the record. The songs that feature Rose Vastola on vocals are by far the best.
