Just when we thought there couldn’t be any more great bands from Bloomington, BCC comes along. Their first album Standby, just came out on tape and sports a sound that straddles the wiry post-punk sound of groups like Omni with the colder sound of e.g. Priests. Sometimes even in the same song. The guitar-sound on this record is so nice and Bethany Lumsdaine’s vocals ties everything together nicely. It’s refreshing to hear a band that just does their own thing for once.
