Today marks the release of Feverfew’s debut album Fake Happy. This particular Feverfew happen to be from Arizona and the record was cut at The Midtown Island studio in Tuscon (owned and run by Matt from The Resonars). It is indeed not a particularly happy album, wallowing in the dark guitar sounds of the 90s and lyrics about depression and self-depreciation. The songwriting is spot on however – singer and lyricist Sissy Flowers wrote most of the songs while living in Chicago and sounds suitably unimpressed. Self-released for now, let’s hope someone puts this to vinyl soon. Check out this performance from KXCI a few months back as well.
