Necking is the Vancouver band that won’t have you missing Sleater-Kinney. Made up of Nada Hayek, Melissa Kuipers, Sonya R and Hannah Karren, the four piece just released their debut LP a couple of weeks back on Mint Records. Following on their Meditation Tape from a few years ago, the LP sounds incredibly self-assured. With a decidedly 90s production, this band should go down well with any fans of Bleached and similar groups. “Go Getter” is fierce punk, while “Spare Me” kicks off with a bassline befitting of an Elastica intro.
