Shana Cleveland is not only the singer and guitar player in La Luz, she’s also a solo artist in her own right, releasing a solo record backed by The Sandcastles back in 2011 (on Suicide Squeeze). Now she’s back with a new album on La Luz’ label Hardly Art. It’s called Night of the Worm Moon and as the title would suggest, it’s a pretty haunting record exploring the same kind of territory Isobel Campbell was so fond of. According to Cleveland herself, it was recorded during a solar eclipse and Sun Ra was one of the main sources of inspiration. Totally love the cover art by Ardneks Paraiso Graphica as well, who also made that poster for Sugar Candy Mountain’s EU tour.
