RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #6
Lora Logic played in X-Ray Spex in her teens, but she left just as their album came out. A year later she had formed Essential Logic, which became one of the most important bands of the UK postpunk scene. After their short career, Lora continued as a solo artist, releasing an album on Rough Trade in 1982. Kill Rocks Stars included this in their 2CD compilation of Essential Logic material back in 2003. One of the unreleased tracks on it was this majestic 1983 recording called “Stay High” based around a drum machine and synthesisers.
Her solo album Pedigree Charm is also well worth checking out. Just listen to this DIY funk tune, called “Hiss and Shake”.
