Isn’t it amazing how Melbourne three-piece ORB just keep getting better? I thought Birth was a high-water mark, but listening to The Space Between I’m wondering what the hell I was thinking. These seven tunes are just among the best I’ve heard all year. The record actually came out in the beginning of autumn, but like so many great albums this year, it’s taken me a while to catch up with it. “Stonefruit I, II, III” might be their best song to date. It closes the album and for me, might very close the year too.
I wish they come and play Europe with the new record. I’m also STILL waiting for Zac’s other band Traffik Island to release something. That track on the Anti Fade compilation from this year was so promising. In the meantime, check out this great live clip of ORB.
