The Dates is Garrett Goddard’s new band. Garrett has played with Girls, King Tuff and of course Personal & the Pizzas. Most recently, he did a single under the commercial-suicide-name Gary With a Circle Around the A, called “Used Cars” that came out on Burger. In January they are releasing the new record Ask Me Again Later, but it seems to be available in their store already though? Either way, “Any Other Nite” is one of the finest tunes I’ve heard all year and the record is worth picking up on that merit alone. Perfect powerpop.
