Last year Anna St. Louis released a cassette with what sounded like a few demos on Woodsist. Following up First Songs, this month saw the release of her new album If Only There Was a River on Woodsist and Mare. It’s by far the best folk album I have heard this year, right up there with Jessica Pratt. The songs were recorded in Los Angeles together with Kyle “King Tuff” and Kevin Morby and I think it deserves to be heard in full without further ado.
